im 38 weeks...

im 38 weeks and am having strong period like cramps and have had to used the bathroom more to have a bm n constinatly feel like i have to i wake up with very bad menstrual cramps in the morning and all through the night i have contractions that start at the top n tighten up but dont hurt as bad as the cramps lots more discharge what does it mean?

  • It means if you are really concerned, call your dr or go to the hospital :)

    Start timing te contractions. If they are closer then 5 min apart for an hour go to the hospital.

  • Sounds like labor is on it's way. Just relax and stay home as long as possible. You'll be more comfortable and progress more quickly. Remember that you can't eat if you go to the hospital and you'll likely be strapped down with EFM and an IV. At 38 weeks, you're full term so if this is real labor, just let it progress. Drink some water and just relax.

  • I agree with ncbirdie, Relax. Take a walk, or warm shower or a nap. Have a snack. I don't suggest a large meal. Small, light things. Like granola bars or a banana. Drink drink drink. Cuddle with your SO. You won't get to do any of this at the hospital.
