Is Santa a mythical character or did he ever exist, also does he have any thing to do with religion? If so which one did he come from?

  • Santa, the jolly old elf who delivers presents on Christmas Eve is fictional and non religious. There was an actual Saint Nicholas who did live. St. Nicholas

  • He did exist at one time and he is based off of saint Nicholas. I don't know the exact details right off hand though.

  • He did exist but not as one person. He is both a real person and a myth. And he is both Christian and Pagan.

  • Ryans mom
he is religious! if not in the Christian sense then most certainly in the Pagan sense. Many of the features he represents comes from myths of a Pagan God.

  • as far as I know, "santa" was once around...Saint Nicolas. He was very kind and gave presents to the less fortunate and soon nuns made it a tradition to give out presents once a year. St Nick was actually a very skinny man, and the coca cola company is what mad him the jolly fat guy we see today. I saw a history of santa in the history channel around xmas time last year lol
