what is a Tater tot

hi I live in Australia so have no idea - is it like a baby potato? I have a recipe for Tater tot casserole and don't know what to put in it

  • Yes its just hash browns formed into little rolls. I would try using hash browns in its place.

  • A tater tot is a tater tot. It's like a small formed hashbrown. I love tator tot hot dish!!

  • so can I use just hashbrowns in the recipe? We don't have TaterTots in our supermarkets

  • I'm not sure if it would cook properly unless you just bake the casserole without the hashbrowns and cook the hashbrowns seperately and then throw the hashbrowns on top when the casserole is done. That's what I would do.
