If youve had the flu about 3 weeks ago, and you get exposed to it again, can you catch it again?

Or has your body built up an immunity to it?
My son got over a week long flu about 3 weeks ago.
He hasnt been to his dads house since. So he was to be picked up today. But all of a sudden the "wife" calls him up and says she has the flu.Sounds like the same exact symptoms my son had when he was sick.
Anyway, his dad still wants him to come over. Do you think he would be immune to it and most likely not catch it again?
My son really wants to go over, he hasnt seen him in awhile and he so has been looking forward to this week of spring break.He's10.

  • Depends on the strain of the flu. If it is the same strain, no.
