Is she in the right place?????

DD is almost 16 months old...she will be in about a week....Right now as far as words go she says, mama, dada, Map (dora), A DA which means Dora lol (everytime she sees anything dora she says A DA), Kitty (hello kitty) she also says Hi, bad and sometimes bye

shes not saying anything two word phrases...just those basic single words, those online development things say they should be able to start doing that but shes not so I worry...but she seems smart and understands what we say and when she watches dora and it says to say Map she says it EVERYTIME, its great how she is able to interact with it!!

  • I know you must feel anxious right now about your child's development. You wouldn't be a good parent if you didn't worry!

I am just going to give you some general information. There are LOTS of toddlers your child's age that have little speech and language. Definitely have his hearing checked to rule out a hearing loss but remember that speech and language development are a very hard area to pinpoint b/c children develop sooooo differently in this area

I will give you a website below that cites what "normal" language/speech development should look like. As for the problem solving delay, I would just give it some time too.
