mommies of children with autism.....please i need your help!!

so andy (age 3) is autistic. he attends a special needs preschool but has just started biting children. i know WHY he does it. he is pretty delayed-physically and mentally and verbally. he only does it in large groups because he is overwhelmed and if a child trys to take something away from him or gets in "his space" his reaction is to bite. can i get some tips on how to teach him that its not ok? his comprehension is on the level of maybe a 2 year old (we find out for sure on fri. at his IEP meeting). im just at a loss as to how to teach him not to do that. thanks in advance.

  • Smaller group size is really all you can do for now....They need to be taught between right and wrong in a delicate manner or it will spark another meltdown. If he is only a year behind that is really good and plenty of room for improvments. My autistic daughter was 19 and had the mind of an 11 yr old

  • Smaller groups (which may not always be possible). We always tapped our kids teeth and said "no bite". Our son who has autism was not really much of a biter but that is how we handled it with all of our kids (we have twins that are delayed thanks to twin language).
