How many hamburgers per person?

We are having a cook out for my son's birthday. There will be hamburgers, mac and cheese, veggie and fruit trays, cheese, crackers, sommer sausage, and of course, cake. I'm just wondering how many hamburgers we should cook per person?

  • I agree Two per Adult, one per kid. But do make a few more just incase you have a really hungry eater.
Usually people fill up on everything else before the burgers are done, so they only have one burger.
But you want to be prepared. You can always freeze then in a ziploc if there are any leftovers. They're great reheated. Either used in a cassarole, or just by themselves with some ketchup and mustard.

  • if you are trying to save money I would say just one per person. Kids might not eat them and their parents can finish their plates. Also, there will be a ot of other food. I dont know- i'm a vegetarian and I'm cheap:)

  • I would average 1.5 per person. Obviously you won't SERVE 1.5 per person, but it means half will get 2 and half will get 1... you're offering a lot of other stuff too, you'll have hamburgers left over.

  • Calorie-wise, one is certainly enough....but Americans being the gluttons they are, most people, especially the men will want two---especially if you are using those pre-made <1/4 pound patties that are not that big.
