Have you ever worn a wig?

Have you even worn a wig? Are they as pretty as they look on some people? Like Sherri Shepard or Dolly Parton they always look so Pretty. Where can you get ones like that? Are they costly? Any experience or knowledge on them? Your kind favor to reply is appreciated. Thank you most kindly!

  • Good looking ones, generally made from human hair, can run up to several hundred dollars. I've worn them for Halloween, not seriously though(yet)!

  • I looked into wigs when half of my daughter's hair fell out. Thankfully, it was the under half, so we were able to avoid a wig. Anyway, they are freakishly expensive. Real human hair costs $700 or more. Fake hair wigs are cheaper of course, but they look fake.

  • Wigs, even the very best available, look like wigs from closer than about 10 feet. The bad ones look like wigs from 100 yards... but the reason Dolly Parton and Cher can wear them is because TV adds 6-10' of 'apparent distance' to makeup, wigs, clothes (which is why small patterns on fabric look like solid colors in pictures).

Hair hats is what my kids call them

  • I cut my hair REALLY short one time, so I started wearing a wig until it grew out. I got it for $12 at a second hand store.

  • I worked for a cancer clinic for 12 years seen so many wigs...Look at Paula Young's wigs. They are not expensive and they don't look fake like some other do... Her wigs are well ventilated so they are not so hot durning summer months. We also have a store in Memphis that specializes in wigs, bras, anything that a person going through treatment would want....They tend to be high in price though. Good Luck
