baby proofing in a raised ranch.

We live in a raised ranch and our living room has a half wall and the other side is the stairs. Our couch is up against this half wall and it would be easy for a child to climb up onto the wall. Does anybody else live in the same type of house and if so do you think we should move the couch? Dh thinks that we should just teach our daughter not the stand on the couch and we intend to do that, (she is only 3 months now) but you never know what could happen in an instant.

  • Personally, I'd move the couch. Things can happen in a instant. If you don't, you just really need to be on top of it, ALL the time. Like, during the toddler stage, if you have to go to the bathroom, it might not be a good idea to leave her in the living room. You might have to take her with you for things like that.
