Do you sing any funny made up songs to your kids?

When my daughter poops, I always sing to her, because she hates diaper changes.

One song is:

There's some doodie on your booty, clean it off!
There's some doodie on your booty, clean it off!

There's some doodie on your booty and it's really not that cutie,
There's some doodie on your booty, clean it off!

  • LOL love the doodie song

We have a couple. We're trying to help the baby learn her name so the boys came up with:
    G A B B Y..That spells GABBY yeah thats right <~~~ lol

    A couple others are:
    Putting on our clothes
    Going to school
    Cuz mommy wants us out
    Out of the house
    Cuz we are tornadoes
    But we'll be back
    When school lets out
To break things again...... Gotta love the things kids come up with

OOOO daddys coming daddys coming home
mommys packing her bags and taking a long neded vacation
Daddys coming daddys coming daddys coming home
i cannot wait to for my peace and quiet and make daddy wash all the clothes.

But the one i love <~~~rolling eyes

    Wheres my Dinner

  • lol! My son loves it when i sing t"the Damien song" It changes daily and its all about what he did that day and what he likes. He soaks it up and he has made a routine out of it. We now sing "the Gavin song" or :the dada song" etc.

  • Lol, that's a cute song!!!

I tend to sing pretty much everything to my kids. Whatever I'm doing becomes a song.

My son has started doing it too. He's 3 and my daughter is 8 months old. We sing to her a lot.
    He'll sing
    "Ruby, Ruby!
    She's a little cutie!
    Ruby, Ruby!
    She's a little cutie."

  • There's one that my great-grandfather used to sing to all the little kids. My grandmother grew up hearing it, and she and her father both sang it to all her kids, and then they all (great grands, grands, parents/aunts uncles) sang it to all of us, and everyone would sing it to my son. The words get a little tweaked with each generation, because everyone sings it a little different:
    Hampodeedle oh deedo dee
And I know (kid's name) boy (or girl)
    I know him/her and s/he knows me
    Hampodeedle oh deedo dee

And then each verse you tell a story about something they did where the third line is, and then end it with that same verse again.

  • We sing this as we wait for my DH to come home from work :

    Daddy come home
    Daddy come home
Daddy come home, come home Daddy.

My mom made it up while me and my brother were little, and I have just adopted it -- and translated it from danish to english.......:-)

  • We both sing to him all the time...usually "normal" everyday songs, but we'll either change the lyrics to fit whats going on or if its a song we don't know all the words to we'll just make them up after awhile. Now that our son "talks" back, he'll try to sing along or he'll giggle the whole's so cute!

  • lol I have a few silly songs for Aden. Theres the foot sandwich song
" Yooooou put the mayo on the foot, the right right foot, you put the mustard on the foot, the left left foot, you put the lettuce on the feet, both the feet, and you put em together and take a bite!" (then i nibble on his toes lol) Plus some others that are either pretty long or I just make up random ones
