Starting is always the hardest part

I'm writing a research papert (rough draft due wed) on language and how it influences opinions/attitudes on war. I can't seem to get started.......How do you start?

I usually wait to find my thesis until I've written a few paragraphs. Maybe I should do an outline?

  • I really don't have to have an outlime, I just thought it may be easier to write a paper from one.

I can tear through a narrative without blinking, and it turns out great, but academic research really blows a few ducks. I HATE writing them.

  • Even just a rough little outline where you break up the topics and order them might help you out....
