  • idk about juice making a child constipated. But children don't really need any juice. it's basically just sugar water. Especially if the child likes to eat their fruit.

  • I know we couldn't give ours too much apple juice, it gave them the runs. We always diluted all their juices, now that they are almost in school, they don't really get store bought juice much at all. Previous post is right, it's just basically sugar water, unless you juice it yourself, which we do.

  • I agree with the previous post. Give him regular fruit instead, drink water or milk, juice can be a special treat like candy. If he'll eat apples, they may help him go. Try to get him to eat the peel and all, I cut them in thin slices for DD.

  • We don't do juice often, but one of the reason we do give juice is to relieve constipation. Usually apple juice is great at relieving, not causing, constipation.

  • We always dilute dds juice with half - 3/4 water. If we don't she usually gets the runs and it upsets her stomach. Milk makes dd more constipated so we limit that and give her broccoli and cheese instead.

I don't know if it's what's making your son constipated but try switchng to more water and see if that helps!

  • What does your child eat? I don't think its the juice.

  • She didn't ask for the "juice is bad" lecture. Just answer her question!!

I don't think juice can cause constipation. Perhaps it's the milk or cheese?

  • I've never heard of juice having a constipating effect. its usually what you use to loosen them up

  • Probably not the juice, not water either. Too much milk or cheese, however, can cause constipation.
