how do you make your own bird seed?

to feed the birds outside,we have blue jays and robins that frequent our porch.

  • Blue jays LOVE raw unshelled peanuts and black oiled sunflower seeds. Robins rarely eat from birdfeeders and prefer mealworms, earthworms, and berries. You could try some dried cranberries for the robins.

  • Go to Lowe's, Wal-Mart, etc. and purchase a bag of black oil sunflower seeds. Grow Sunflowers in your garden and don't cut the dead heads at the end of the season.

    You can purchase peanuts from the store, but they need to be in the shell and unsalted....raw if you can find them.
