Cake advice

So im baking a cake...I ran out of milk for the butter cream frosting :/ Can i place the cake in the fridge? I making a 9 in round double layer cake.(Im pretty sure i can put it in the fridge..but wanted to ask just in case) Also Do I cut it then put it in the fridge or cute it when im ready to frost? and its Chocolate fudge cake if that helps any lol...

  • Yes you can put it in the fridge. I would put it in the fridge before cutting it. This way it would be easier to cut later when it's fully cooled.

  • Fridge is fine. If you have strong foods like cut onions in the fridge you may want to wrap it first because cake and frosting can absorb other odors.

  • some people find it easier to frost their cakes if they are frozen first!
