Birthday party for a 7 year old? A few questions...

So far we've only had parties with family, but this year we want our daughter to have a birthday party with her friends.
1. What is the best day of the week to have a party? I can't do it Saturday, do you think many kids will come if it's on a Friday?
2. What time would be best? Right after school (1:20 on Fridays here) or a little later in the afternoon like 3?
3. How long should a birthday party last?
4. What kind of games and activities would be fun for a group of 1st graders at a party?

Thanks for your help!

  • if it was done on a friday i would do it around 230-3..or else i would wait and do it on a sunday at about 1pm ( personally would do it sunday)
parties usually last 2-3 hrs..depends if youre gonna feed them food - pizza, hotdogs, chicken nuggets etc...id say 3 hrs if youre gonna feed them a "real meal" or 2 hrs if theres just gonna be snacks (like crackers/cheese chips, pretzels etc)
as for games, you could get a pinata, do a scavenger hunt, do some sort of arts/crafts, or if its nice just let them play outside, or have the girls all bring their bikes over, and you could get some streamers, balloons etc and they could decorate their bikes. unless you plan on taking them somewhere, like rollerskating, or i know some schools in my area you can actually rent out their gym, and they set up a big bouncy castle, hula hoops, basketball, hockey, floor mats etc(the local rec centre offers this to, but the school is cheaper) good luck
