Do you think kids "deserve" to0 see crappy parents?

If you had a child who birth father was a bad as they can get ( drugs, jail, and basically hasnt seen child in years)

do you think that birth father still should get to see that child ....

  • I think the child should see his father, yes. I wouldn't keep my child from seeing him if he wanted to. Now, unsupervised visits,overnight visits..that would be another thing.

  • That is tricky, I don't think it is fare because they might emotionally hurt the child, coming in and out of there life.

    Who is to say if they really changed. Are they paying child support for a certain amount of time and actually want to be a part of there life or are they just bored for the moment and want to TRY to do the right thing but are not sure if they will.

    It stinks either way you go.

  • If he wants to see his kid you kinda have to let him unless he signed over his rights. Then it's up to you. Obviously you can be careful about it (supervised, only in public places ect) but they both have a right to see and know each other. If anything the kid will learn what not to do with his life. Kids are smart. They eventually figure out that dad is an idiot.
