What are good learning books for a toddler?

DD is 2.5 and showing interest in letters and reading now... She recognizes the letters and knows how to spell her name but I am wondering what books there are out there that she can start recognizing little words like "mom, dad, dog, cat, hat etc". The books we read she will try to "read" the words too and if the word is repeated 2 or more times she can recognize it throughout the book and it becomes a game to find these words! However, we only have 2 of these books and am trying to find more!!!

  • The Step Into Reading level 1 books are pretty good for repetition, and they are very easy to read/understand.

  • Dr. Suess books are great. They repeat the same words over and over again and have lots of rhyming and aliteration.
