PLEASE HELP!!! My husband doesn't want to throw a b-day party 4 our soon 2b 1yr.old child. We had a huge b-day for our other child. He says its b/c the baby has been so sick and that he looks like he's only 5mths. old. Is he favoring 1 over the other or is he acting just like my mother-in law who did the same thing w. her children?

  • I don't think it matters how sick a child has been, everyone deserves a birthday celebration.

  • You only have a 1st birthday once in your lifetime. Even more of a reason to have a birthday celebration is the baby has been sick. God bless him and Thank God he made to his 1st birthday. If he won't do it than you do it. If it bothers him so much keep it intimate with family and only your closest friends that know and understand that the baby has had health problems. Let him eat his birthday cake and take lots of pics. Obviously, your husband might have his favorite chosen already. Don't let your baby feel it ever you fill in that gap for him.

  • I would schedule it after he is sick. A little late doesn't matter he won't know. Think of if you are sick and all these people showed up at your house cheerful and cake and come on that would be tourcher.

  • Don't bother him with it. Honestly, if you don't drive, and he won't take you, then order everything online, or ask a friend to take you. It doesn't have to be a big party (it's not about gifts or about you, it's about the baby) but you should definately have some pictures of the baby eating his cake for his scrapbook.

  • i know a little girl who is the daughter of my brothers wife - until they got together the poor girl (8 yrs old) had NEVER had a birthday party!
how could someone be like that - its not fair especially to not have one for the second child if you did for the first!
if he is embarrased he doesnt have to join! i cant believe that!
