If they do the "belly button" surgery right, it's not so awful. If they make a surgical error and slice open your uterus like what happened to me, then you have a problem.
You'll have 3 small holes in your abdomen. You'll be put on pelvic rest for about a week or so depending on the severity of the cyst. No sex, nothing inside the vagina, and don't lift anything over 10 lbs.
What they don't tell you: Your stomach will be inflated with CO2 so the surgical instruments can fit in your body. It will creep under your skin and come up into your shoulders. It will make your neck feel very sore. You'll have to walk around until you burp and fart out all the gas. Your belly will look pregnant it will be so full of gas. It takes about 24 hours to get the gas out.
I switched to a gluten free diet and stopped getting cysts.
