How much is a middle class home in your area?

And what area (preferably county and state, if you don't mind) do you live in?

DH and i will have enough saved up and will probably be ready to put a down payment on a home within the year and i figured it would be a good time to start looking.

  • Northern IN, $70-120k. That's figuring at least 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths and at least 2000 sq ft. They go as high as a million+, but at that point you're basically paying for a name and granite counters - the houses aren't much bigger, and the subdivisions are so far outside town you're looking at a 10 minute drive just to find a gas station.

  • Westminster, Co area- I would say for a decent home they start out at $200,000-$300,000. Depends on how many bed rooms and baths your wanting. This price would reflect about a 3 bedroom 2 bath.

  • North Atlanta-- $150-$400 depending on the neighborhood for a 3 BR 1.5 BA house. City neighborhoods are strange when it comes to pricing.
