  • I think they drag their butt across the carpet/floor. You can check for worms in the stools, don't know if they loose weight...take it to a vet could be something more serious.

  • It does depend on what type they have. The most common I see is Whipworms or Roundworms. But there also could be a different medical reason why your dog is losing weight? YOu need to get your do into a vet to get a check up!

  • Not always, but you can easily de-worm them yourself by visiting a feed store and purchasing some pyrantel. Check online for dosage by weight. This wont take care of all parasites.
    Heartworms are very serious, and improper care could kill them. have them tested for heartworm before putting them on a preventative that contains ivermectin.
    Tapeworms can only be removed by praziquantel, but you'll know if you dog has tapeworms if you see what looks like rice in thier poop.
