my son is 9 1/2 months old when do i knock out baby food for lunch to giving him a solid for for lunch... i have him eating baby food for lunch and then at dinner time he eats at the table in his high chair with us should i keep it that way or should i knock out the baby food for a solid???? it has been a long time for me my daughter is 6 so i dont really remember how i did it... also after dinner should i still give him the bed bottle????

  • Take your cues from him. Try some baby friendly foods like graham crackers, banana slices, sliced carrots, peas, green beans, baby puff snacks and let him experiment and learn how to feed himself. Once he has that down start introducing more advanced things that don't pose a choking hazard.

  • Give him the bottle before bed up to 12 months. He still needs the nutrients in the formula that he won't get from solids. and if you want you can switch him to solids for lunch too. Just make sure that he is getting the bottle often enough.

  • We went completely off baby food around 8 months, so as long as he is able to safely eat "finger foods" then he's fine. He still needs either a bottle/breast at nighttime until a year (although if you are bottle feeding you can introduce a sippy cup and see if he will take his formula from that)
