Sympathy Card?

Hi here is my question. I have a dear co-worker who just lost her brother and I am wanting to give her a sympathy card but am unsure because she is a Jehovah's Witness. They don't celebrate any hoildays etc. so I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something that goes against her faith or makes her uncomfortable. Can anybody give me some input?

  • No offense will be taken, that is very sweet of you. I'm a JW and I would be ok with it.

  • I grew up JW. And my mother made us send out Sympathy cards every time someone so much as sneezed sideways... I would just say don't send a religiously based one...

  • I would make a donation to a charity she supports, in memory of her loved one.

  • I agree that a card would be a nice gesture and would be appreciated but also agree you should pick one that does not have a religious reference. Anyone who has lost a loved one is feeling the loss regardless of what their religious beliefs are. I'm sure she will appreciate your thoughtfulness.
