Does your 13 year old have a mustache?

Mine does, a really dark real mustache. He's had it since he was 11 (turns 13 on sunday). We are debating on letting him shave it now that people are making comments about him having a mustache, including his teacher. Would you let your son shave?

  • My son is not quite 11 and people are already noticing his mustache. I have already used an electric razor on it twice.... months apart each time. If its that dark by 13, he will be shaving. He is already short, thin and very hairy.

  • My 13 yr old son does not have any facial hair yet. I asked him if he did have one would he want to shave it. He said yes! So if my son wanted to shave I would allow him to do so.

  • boy or girl? I had one when I was that age and I hated it. My mother wouldn't let me have use Nair so I was stuck with it.

  • Way before my son had any facial hair I pointed out the long blonde lip hair on pubescent boys & said, "That really doesn't look good. When you start seeing that, let me know & we'll buy a razor." Hair they don't want is embarrassing. Hair they think is a mustache but too early looks like a boy trying to be a man. It's not attractive. Let him shave, and continue to support each of his developmental steps.

  • My sons all developed facial hair around that age but it was scraggly and unattractive and we made them shave. All of them were over 18 when they got decent looking facial hair. Let your son shave.
