  • My dd just got hers taken off. She is 7. Last summer she wasnt confident enough to get them taken off. So now, this spring she decided she wanted to learn. My dh took them off the other day. She refused to let us help her, and she taught herself how to ride her bike with no training wheels. When she was done teaching herself, she taught her cousin, who is also 7.

  • oldest just took her training wheels off last year while we were camping - she was being heckled by her little sister.

    middle dd was 4.5

    youngest not yet (she's 3)

but my oldest is not really a 'bike' kid. she's a rollerblade kid - got on and away she went. she chooses blades over bike anyday.

  • My dd just turned 6 and she is riding with no training wheels. It took her about 3 lessons to get the hang of it.

  • my 5 year old is learning to ride without training wheels, she's almost there. her friend who turns 9 next month is learning with her, and she doesn't really care for it. it depends on the kid.

  • I was so excited when my son took off on his own he started later on I think he was 6 I cried, corney , rite? I worked so hard helping him with it. We actually built his first 2 wheeler together it was quite an experience.

  • My daughter is 6 and could do it, but she pays too much attention to the world around her and will not pay attention. The neighbor boy learned to ride about a month ago (he is also 6) and she knows she can do it. It won't be long. lol My son is 4 and he'll be there soon too- he's determined but still wobbly.
