did you period change after you had your first child?

before i had my son, my period was very light, and it only lasted for 3 days and my only symptoms were emotional, moody, bloated & breaking out. since ive had my son, its really heavy, lasts for 4-5 days, and my symptoms are all the same ones, plus i get cramps, i get nauses, and really tired. did your period change too after having a child? & if it did, did it go back to normal eventually?

  • Well there you have it. Every answer in the book. As my OB-GYN always told me, your female body is always changing. Each stage of your life will bring yet another period to adjust to, as well as after each pregnancy.

  • After my first, my periods got a day or two longer, but same consistency and same symptoms (or lack thereof, in my case). After my second, I started getting cramps just before my period started, and my cycles are a bit more regular. But I'm still breastfeeding, so that's likely to change in the long run.

  • well, i've never given birth.
But after my first pregnancy i did start to get cramps and had a longer period.
after my second pregnancy i developed fatigue, moodiness, and loss of appetite in addition to my other symptoms.
I actually have less bloating when i'm off BC then when i'm on.

  • Yupe!

Mine got stronger, more cramping/back pain, head ackes increased, moodyness + tiredness increased (maybe also due to the fact kids are stressful little creatures..LOL! )

I'm not on BC but had a tubal ligation a couple yrs. ago - so still the same.

  • Mine were the opposite, they got so much better after I had kids, they are a little lighter and probably last as long, but I used to have horrible cramps and now I don't. I've been pregnant or breastfeeding for most of the past 5 years though, so once I no longer have babies it may eventually go back to normal, I don't know.
