What effect does soap play in getting vaginal infections?

I have been using an all natural soap from the health food store I bought my daughter for her dry skin. I noticed that after using Dove, I was having symtoms of BV? Has this happend to anyone else?

  • It kills off the good bacteria we have down there that fights the bad stuff.

  • Soap can be really irritating to a delicate area, and can also change the pH balance making yeast infections and things like that more likely. I definitely get irritation if I use soap on that area- have to use just water or a pH neutral body wash. Anything else and I will be severely uncomfortable!
