The Hurt Locker or Up in The Air (with George Clooney)?

I haven't seen Up In the Air, but the Hurt Locker left me disappointed. Throughout the entire movie, I was waiting for the climax, just waiting for SOMETHING to happen, but it never did. Then, the credits began rolling. I thought to myself, what a waste of my time. I came to realize that it may have all come down to politics at the Academy Awards. If given the choice between James Cameron and his ex-wife, it seems like the Academy may have chosen who they liked better as a person. There was also that defining moment to change history by presenting the award to the first woman in that category. So, IMO, it came down to politics. Just my opinion...you might love it.
