Worried Sick

Okay, I've been nursing my 2nd son for over 5 months now, and I'm on the mini pill. So I haven't had a period for over a year. But I've been cramping for over 2 weeks now. I took a test this morning and it said negative. Should I stop worrying and keep taking my pill or stop taking it?

  • I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you're not taking your pills at the same time every day, or if you're skipping feedings (pumping milk, going 5 or more hours at a time without nursing, etc). Then there's a chance you could be pregnant, but it's still pretty slim.

  • I wouldn't be worried. I cramp ALL the time while BF starting at about 5 or 6 months

  • It's important to take the mini pill at the same time daily, my ob really stressed that. As long as you've taken it as directed you shouldn't worry yourself.

  • I wouldn't be worried. I breastfed my youngest for 14 months and every month I would get cramps, but no period.
