At what age was your child able to draw a circle?

I know this may sound dumb but I really want to know. At what age did you specifically ask them to draw a circle and they were able to draw one? This means that it wasnt a fluke lol

  • I think it depends on the child. My 3 year old taught herself to draw circles and hearts and is close to making triangles. My almost 4 year old niece has no interest in drawing shapes at all. I think some kids are just more artistic.

  • Between 2 and 2 1/2 they should be able to draw a crude circle but they need to know what a circle is first.

  • I believe they should be able to do it by 2. (My son has developmental delays and his inability to draw the circle by 2 was flagged as a delay,) However, not being able to do it isn't something to be concerned about unless there are other problems. Some kids just don't have any interest in drawing until later.
