Can gestational diabetes cause pre term labor even if well controlled??

  • I think so. There's something about the way the hormones work with each other, that if the insulin (hormone) is off-kilter, the oxytocin can be affected.

  • Yes, but it's not extremely common if it's controlled. I've had GD with 4 of my 5 pregnancies - my last 3 all went full term, and I'm at 27 weeks of my 5th.
