Can children get a fever from to much out side?

Can children get a fever from to much out side time? My 2 yr old came home from my parents with a 101 temp now going on the second day and my mom told me it could be from to much out side time. I never heard this so just wondering if any one else knows.

  • my six year old will appear to have a fever when she gets too hot playing outside. BUT, as soon as she is in Air Condition for a while, her temp goes down. It sounds like your little one has a virus.

  • Just make sure to give him plenty of fluids during outside play and keep him well dressed for the weather. Use light airy fabrics to keep him cool.

  • You can get overheated from being outside... if you're working/playing outside for an extended period of time, or in a hot car, your body temperature does indeed go up, but it's not a fever. A fever is an auto-immune reaction.

  • Thanks Every one for your input! I think she has a virus, she is now on her 3rd day and still has a 100 degree temp but is getting her spirit back!
