  • Your bank or credit union is a good place to start, and if you have a steady income and have been a customer for a while they will probably give you the best rate (other than no interest possibly from a relative). Other options are relatives, payday loans from check cashing places (not recommended), cash advances on credit card (not recommended), or title loans with you car's title (also not recommended).

  • You may also qualify for care credit if you need the money for medical treatment. Some doctor's offices will have information about this or you can search online. I know Capital One used to offer medical care credit.

  • My son just got a $1500 loan at our credit union. 9.9 % loan on his signature(no collateral)
It really depends on your credit. If it stinks you may have to go to one of those less savory places that charges you an arm and a leg in finance charges. That should be your last resort. Can you borrow some or all of it from a friend or family member? You can try the banks but only if you have good credit.
