Is this just odd or rude and tacky ? Can I borrow a bottle of Vodka ?

so I moved a few weeks ago and in the process the next door neighbor came to say hi . Cool right well we stood in my kitchen as I put the liquer bottles in the upper cabinet away from kiddos. She commented Whoa you guys have alot of alchohol . Which is true but we are not drinkers , I use some to bake or cook , I will offer a guest a drink ( one so as not to let a drunk behind the wheel ) . On occasion me and hubby will make a special drink and enjoy it
I think the last time we drank was Thanksgiving we had cranberry spritzer
So a lil while ago my neighbor rang my bell and asked to borrow a bottle of vodka !!!
Is that just a bit odd or is it rude and tacky ?
I stuttered and told her I dare not touch my husbands stash and offered a fake giggle .What would you have done ?

  • No, I wouldn't give someone a bottle of vodka to borrow and I sure wouldn't ask to borrow one. She is probably an alcoholic who ran out of her stash and has no money to buy another bottle.
