Different lunch box ideas for DH to take to work with him..ideas anyone?

He's tired of lunchmeat and sandwhiches.
He a truck driver. So it has to be something that doesnt necessarily need to stay in the fridge all day and something that doesn't need to be cooked or warmed up.
See why I'm stumped?lol
He doesn't want the soup in a thermos either because now the weather is too hot he says, lol.
He uses an igloo lunchbox with a couple ice packs to keep stuff cold.
Any ideas? Thanks!

  • I really do understand your frustration! I have a husband who builds houses and eats out of a cooler he takes to work...he hates sandwiches, there is never a microwave taken to job sites and you can skip the thermos!
Here is what he has reduced me to
hard boiled eggs, peeled and put in a container
tuna spread and ritz crackers, cheese and ritz crackers (he dips the crackers in the tuna mix)
salami slices and cheese( use a variety of cheese)
    tuns or chicken pasta salad
    banana's
    cold chicken legs(drumsticks)
I will make a ham or a turkey breast and cut into bite size chunks
cookies, bars and muffins made with fruit ( blueberry/banana/pumpkin)
    string cheese/beef sticks
    chips/cheetoes
    pears
    rice krispie bars/brownies/cookie bars
    small cans of V8 juice
    can of mixed nuts
at the end of the week throw up your hands and just say" what do you really want"
    lol....I share the pain!

  • We've been making those seasoned perdue chicken breasts, and shredding them into a tortilla with italian dressing, lettuce and tomatoes.
Some days I make a deviled egg salad, or chicken salad with celery and cranberries, tuna with relish and onions...
Fruit salad or a regular salad, or chef salad would be something different too. Served in a sour cream type container to make it shakebale and easier to eat when driving.
