Is it ok to mix your prenatal pills?

My SIL gave me her old prenatal pills, but they are different from mine. I haven't taken hers yet, she has had the presciption since January, the bottle says they are good until January 2011. But I am wondering is it safe to do this? I know this doesn't go in just for fun but it's the most popular category.

  • read the bottle, the list of % RDA may be under the prescription lable. and compare her % to yours. Unless she was anemic and you aren't they are probably about the same. Be aware that it is still illegal to use prescriptions that aren't yours. You can take them with you to your next appointment and ask the doctor.

  • What did your Dr. tell you to take? That's what I would use. I don't think taking her prenatal vitamins would hurt but I wouldn't do it.
