Is it ok to mix prenatal pills?

My SIL gave me her old prenatal pills, but they are different from mine. I haven't taken hers yet, she has had the presciption since January, the bottle says they are good until January 2011. But I am wondering is it safe to do this?

  • I would not take a prescription that is not mine. The OTC ones are just as good as prescription ones.

  • I agree with PP, I wouldn't take a prescription that isn't mine. I would continue to just take yours.

  • w/ my first child, my midwife/OB practice just gave me a bunch of their free samples.

this pregnancy i take OTC rainbow light vitamins.

i wouldn't worry about it being RX as long as you check the label, and see what's in there. likely it will be very close to what's in yours. you could also ask your OB/midwife.
