  • If he refuses to sleep during nap time, he is guilty of refusing to sleep. If he's laying in bed quietly the whole time, that is still resting. We call it "quiet time" or "rest time" to avoid the sleep-requirement-issue. 9 out of 10 times they'll fall asleep anyway if they lay there long enough. We just have the rule that they must stay in bed. They can look at a book or play with a stuffed animal, but has to be quiet and in bed.
