Wasn’t ObamaCare supposed to prevent this very problem?

2000 plus pages to help everyday American's and their health care costs?? So why do they need to write ANOTHER BILL?

NYT: Fearing that health insurance premiums may shoot up in the next few years, Senate Democrats laid a foundation on Tuesday for federal regulation of rates, four weeks after President Obama signed a law intended to rein in soaring health costs.

  • Mr. Harkin praised a bill introduced by Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California, that would give the secretary of health and human services the power to review premiums and block “any rate increase found to be unreasonable.

Soooooo, who defines unreasonable?  The Federal Government?  How many bribes, lobbyists, and special interest groups does it take to persuade the definition of unreasonable?

  • WTF was the point of the first bill if it didn't even contain the headliners they used to attempt to sell it to the American public? They touted for a long time that it would cover kids with pre-existing conditions and that it would make health insurance more affordable for everyone, neither of which items were in the original bill. Makes you wonder what wonderful stuff was really in the bill when they use things that weren't in it to sell it. Waste of taxpayer money and one more way to seize control over industry and the economy.  IMO, anyone that sees this as anything other than a control mechanism is fooling themselves.

  • Too bad they didn't read the bill and work out these pesky little problems BEFORE they signed it.

Imagine if you hired a contractor to remodel your house, and in his contract he left out all the details as to what, how, when, who, where, and how much. How much faith would you have that the job would be done correctly and in budget?

Oh wait, most of us aren't stupid enough to sign something without reading it first.

  • Even the NYT is starting to see the truth on this bill.

After all, why stop at federal mandates on coverage? If Congress wants to really destroy the insurance industry, they need to start setting price controls to accelerate their collapse. According to the New York Times, Senate Democrats have already begun laying the groundwork for it:

Actually, I have always complained about the unconstitutionality of the mandate, not the price.  I knew they prices would go up, you can't cover a bunch of pre-existing conditions without having to pay for it in some way.  Anyone that understands basic economic principals understands that rates would go up.  If it didn't affect all of us it would be amusing to sit and watch this administration's inexperience in practice, however, it does affect all of us so I just find it depressing and discouraging.

    Yep.  Guess we were RIGHT!

Even the Democrats in Congress are seeing their mistakes.  They wrote this monstrosity, I have little faith in their ability to fix it.
