defyiance in children

what are some good ways to deal with a constant defyant 8Yr old girl?(SHE IS DIAGNOSED WITH ADD/ADHD AND ODD and IS TAKING HER MEDS REGURLARLY) she is just so disrespectful it makes no sense.. she doesnt care anymore ... she says nothing is goin on but i know there is--- HELP ME!!!!

  • is she pretty smart? i have been thinking of this lately...since that spanking study was on the news actually. but i find my most defiant kids are my smartest, but they are still pretty young.
    have you or would you consider an all natural diet, and cutting the meds? or a therapist for the both of you and cutting the meds?

  • That is not being purposefully defiant, that's being controlled by her condition. Ignore bad behavior and praise good behavior. She'll adjust to the good behavior.
