how do you potty train your child??

I watch a 2 and a half year old and i started potty trainning him his mom was happy about it but i ask how he does for her and she said off and on and then she had him home a whole week with her and i asked how he did and she goes well he peed outside once...she said that he didn't want to go potty b/c he was playing outside and didn't want to come in...she tells us to keep working with him but when he comes in the morning his dad says he woke up dry as a bone so he might need to go to the bathroom i ask if he took him potty yet and he says no......i take him potty every 20 mins and he pees everytime the child never comes to you and tells you he needs to potty or if you ask he says no everytime...how do you potty train??

  • the kid has to be mature enough. you can't potty train just cuz baby is walking. they have to be kind of communicative with you. like respond to NO and give you stuff you ask for. they have to be able to recognise they're in big boy undies (pull ups) instead of baby diapers. and most important they have to be able to feel when the pee's coming. and that you can't know for sure until they tell you "mommy pee pee!" and drag you to the closest bathroom

  • OP the problem is he only says like 10 words he does not talk well at all i also watch a 19 month old and she screams if you don't put her on the potty after they 2 and a half your old does and she does tell you pee pee poo poo whatever she has to do she has maybe 1 to 2 accidents a day....i just don't like how they can't take him in the morning before he comes and then the mom always says well how did he do today so she does want him to be trained they just aint going to do it
