Twin pregnancy and EKG....

A friends cousin is having mono/dio twin boys and they are borderline TTTS. They are sending her to a specialist to have an EKG done on the boys. Has anyone had this done and or do you know of why they would want it done? Shes a paranoid pregnant person (I dont mean to sound mean, thats how her cousin describes her) but her doctor wont give her the answers as to why he wants certian things done. Thanks in advance.

  • I"m not sure how they are going to do an EKG on the twins in utero, but maybe it's an echocardiogram. TTTS affects their circulation, so probably they are just checking out the structure and functioning of their hearts. You don't say how far along she is, but they need as much information as they can get on the twins before birth so they are "ready for anything" at birth.
