What's happening to America?

Divorce high rate. Government to Blame

Have you ever thought that our hard working families have all the "weight".
We pay taxes to give illegals health care, food, and all the services available. We pay for government corruption, politicians getting lap dances with our tax money, banks bailed out, same banks that won't give you the OK for a home loan. We pay taxes and we are being force to look for private schools. We don't trust public education. President Reagan wanted to eliminate the Department of Education.

The pressure consumes couples who prefer to divorce. Some won't even get married to stay of welfare.

  • The pressure consumes couples who prefer to divorce.

Key word prefer. If you begin marriage thinking you can always get a divorce if it doesn't work out the way you want it too, then you will more than likely end up divorced. If you begin thinking that you will work hard to make it work, then it probably will. You get out what you put in, most times.

Some won't even get married to stay of welfare.

HUH??? to stay OFF welfare. ~~~ Nope, not in a million years.
to stay ON welfare ~~~ There you have it. People don't get married so that they can continue to receive benefits that would END if they get married.

OP, I sort of agree with you, but not for the reasons you cite. I believe the gov't is trying to break up the traditional family, taking authority away from parents while telling parents to get more involved (??!!??) and also by financially penalizing married couples.

  • It is true, we are taxed to hell. Inflation rises but paychecks don't. My Mom's first home in Vancouver (a BIG city) was 40K. My first home was 360K. How can we make it? Very tough for our generation. But all governments are terribly corrupt. Look at Italy!

  • dunno about govt being cause of divorce.... the top reason for divorce is irreconcilable differences with infidelity not far behind.

  • 40% households in this country pay NO NET INCOME TAX!

But they use the highways and educational system (Such that it sucks!!), just like they did pay taxes!

If you are a true tax payer, and according to Joe Biden,  some of the most patriotic amongst us, thank you for your sacrifice!

  • This is not the highest % of taxes we have paid, not by a long shot.

Stop blaming government for EVERYTHING in the WORLD.

If they are making under a certain amount and they DO pay other taxes..that's all they can afford. I dont expect a family of 4 making LESS than 50,000 a year to conribute MORE than they ALREADY do...

  • I pay the "other taxes", too, so it's still not equitable.

It's not anyone's fault that that's "all they can afford" but their own.

    How is someone else's responsibility?

  • With the country sucking on the Socialist Teet now, here's a Communist idea that everyone here ought to love:

You can't have sex til you can take care of your kids WITHOUT Earned Income Credit.

    That's someone else's money.
    Someone who actually earned it.

LOVE this idea! What is even BETTER is cutting this massive spending program altogether. It is absurd.
