  • Some second hand baby stores sell cloth diapers, not for free, and yes they are used, but they wouldn't buy them if they were in bad condition. There are also a lot of online tutorials on how to make your own. Never tried so I don't know if they turn out ok or not. Another thing to consider is how much water you will be using while cloth diapering. You are giving up one evil for another unfortunately. Sometimes ebay has some for sale pretty cheap.

  • I would talk so some moms who are potty training. If they used cloth I'm sure there are some who would be more than willing to give you some or at least sell them cheaply. Of course even those that give them would want you to pay for shipping... Personally I would never use second hand diapers or undies... but apparently I'm strange like that... Good luck!

  • It depends on the type you get. You can buy (or make) your own inserts and get covers. I probably wouldn't buy used inserts or AIO

  • post an add on freecycle.org, there is a group on cafemom for "trading" cloth diapers and inexpensive used ones, check out diaperswappers.com (if you dont find any free diapers you will find diaper lots for really cheap), try ebay, I used to buy the gerber prefolds at walmart/target which came in a pack of I think 12...good for around the house and very affordable. maybe also look at etsy.com. some mama's do special offers like buy one get one (free, 50% off, buy 5 get free shipping....etc.)

  • Try freecycle www.freecycle.org or craigslist. Craigslist isnt free but you will most likely find some at a reasonable price. That's what I'm doing right now.
