my almost 2 year only says a few words...

I can't get him to repeat anything, has to be his idea. He does have his only language, but only he knows what he's saying. Anyone use Early Intervention or have any quick tips on how to get him interested in talking??? Thanks

  • It could be normal. Some boys don't talk much until they are around 3. My youngest had developmental delays and we had early intervention where therapists came to our home until he was 3. I believe evaluation and therapy if the child needs it is free up until age 3 in all states.

  • Just use repitition. My daughter is 11 months and I trip out each time she says eat or bye-bye. They learn what they hear most frequently. Ever here a baby say "STOP" or "NO"? Well, its because that is all they keep trying, your little one will start speaking soon enough....then you will be thinking "why does he talk so much?" lol
