  • My daughter slept with a Halo sleep sack until it just didnt fit her anymore at around 11 months. That is when she started with a blanket.

  • I always co-slept. However, the risk for SIDS doesn't decrease until 12 months. That would be a good age. Are you doing all the other SIDs risk reduction things like using a fan in the baby's room? That's the latest!

  • I have always done it within they were a month old. We live in an area that gets 20 below or lower with wind chills up to -55 below. If they did not have the blanket they woudl freeze.

  • Ummm mine have had one since a few days after they came home. I swaddle them and then lay a blanket down but only put it up to there waist line. Im the type of mom who checks on my babys 24/7 though plus they always sleep in there bassinette right by my bed till almost 1.

  • I would say to wait until your baby can sit up completely unassisted before offering a blanket at bedtime.

  • DD is 4 months and I give her a blanket. We just stopped swaddling her so she doesn't have that extra layer anymore. She sleeps in a one peice sleeper. But the way I see it is if I get cold at night with my blanket then she propbably does too!! She usually kicks it off during the night anyways.
