How do I talk my 16 year old into family counselling

  • You just take her but remember that she doesn't have to say anything but keep taking her. If the counselor is a good one, he or she will be able to get her to open up. Tell her she doesn't have a choice, she is part of the family and as such she will join the family for FAMILY counseling.

  • The OP can make her go, but she can't make her talk... when I was 16 my mom took me and I refused to say a word- now I would love some counselling!!

    I think the whole family going is great idea, she won't feel so singled out.

  • You don't talk them into it. You just take them. They are 16, NOT 18 an on their own.
