water breaking question

okay how does this work, do you have to be dialated n order for your water to break or can it break at anytime, also i dnt know if i lost my muscous plug or not but i have increased discharge, nausea and fatigue and im 38 weeks and 4 days.....beeen having mild cramping but defintly not contractions..... stomach tightening but no back pain.....

  • your stomiach tightening can be mucule spasims. i don;'t know if you have to be dilated for your water to brake. mine broke with my first child while i was asleep, i dont remember if i was already at the hospital before i dilated though

  • Your uterus tightening without pain is braxton hicks contractions and the cramping it TOTALLY normal the last month or so of pregnancy. You do not need to be dilated for your water to break but typicall you are at least slightly open when it breaks.

  • if your stomach tightening is timeable, then it is probably labor. that is how i describe my contractions. it was never painful. some contractions don't even have to be regular to be in the early stages of labor. i would phone your ob and keep them updated!

  • all those problems u are having with the nausea and everything is normal...ur body is tired. but also i believed the others answered..ur probably having BH contractions.
