Silly Question: (Pregnant/Sleeping/Multiples) Can you squish the baby when you lay on yourside?

Has anyone else out there ever wondered or worried about this? When I lay on one side that baby seems to kick more almost as if to say "you are squishing me." Anyone else have a story like this?

  • I worried about it, and found no matter how hard or lightly I pressed on my stomach (laying on it or even just pushing down with my hand to get a reaction) they'd kick lol
It's probably a little uncomfortable for them, but I doubt it harms them.

  • I worried about which ever twin was on bottom, but my doctor assured me they would be fine.

  • My doctor told me to lay only on my left side when I sleep because the right side and sleeping on my back makes the blood flow to the placenta be cut off. I can't even get comfortable if I do but I had asked because I was always so uncomfortable trying to sleep any other way than my left side.
