AZ Illegal Immigrants whining? No one wants to pick us up!

Nobody wants to pick us up,” Julio Loyola Diaz says in Spanish as he and dozens of other men wait under the shade of palo verde trees and lean against a low brick wall outside the east Phoenix home improvement store.
Many day laborers like Diaz say they will leave Arizona because of the law, which also makes it a crime to be in the U.S. illegally and directs police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants…
The law’s supporters hope the departure of illegal immigrants will help dismantle part of the underground economy here and create jobs for thousands of legal residents in a state with a 9.6 percent unemployment rate.

  • Shouldn't the jobs goto the 9.6 unemployed CITIZENS? My husband is unemployed and just waited in line for 8 hours with 800 plus to apply for one job in Pennsylvania. Maybe now employers will stop short changing American workers and hire legally.

  • Is your husband willing to be a day laborer? To stand on a street corner waiting to be picked up to be taken to a job site?

  • If illegal day laborers were not so easily available those jobs would be filled like they are in other regions. By legitimate companies who hire legal citizens. How do you think lawns get mowed, toilets get cleaned, and contruction gets done in areas without a huge supply of illegals? Or do you actually think that the world comes to a standstill if there are no illegal aliens to take advantage of?

And just what is wrong with a man doing that to feed his family?

    Or any man?

Men can do that, women don't.

Nothing to see here huh? Arizona made it a crime to be here illegally? How about it has been a crime per the federal government...and yeah if it's 'illegally' then it would be a 'crime.' lol I'm telling you this is real craziness for sure.

  • Too freaking bad. Like the question I just answered they can go to San Fran and live the life of riley. LOL It's illegal work anyway. The people picking them up are paying cash under the table. It's great that this hasn't even gone into effect and it's working already.
